Escaped inmate discovered useless on Vancouver Island – BC


A convicted killer who escaped from a jail on Vancouver Island has been discovered useless.

West Shore RCMP mentioned on June 28, at roughly 12:49 p.m., they had been notified that an inmate was unaccounted for through the noon depend at William Head Establishment in Metchosin.

An arrest warrant was issued for 69-year-old Ernest Jensen.

On Monday afternoon, Jensen’s physique was recovered close to the shoreline alongside William Head Establishment by the RCMP West Coast Marine Companies alongside the Metchosin Hearth Division.

RCMP mentioned an investigation is underway with Correctional Companies Canada and the B.C. Coroners Workplace into the circumstances surrounding Jensen’s dying.


“We acknowledge that incidents like this are regarding, significantly for individuals who reside within the surrounding space,” West Shore RCMP mentioned in a launch.

Jensen had been serving a life sentence since 1991 for second-degree homicide.
