A uncommon albino buffalo in Bangladesh — nicknamed “Donald Trump” for its distinctive blond tuft — has been spared from Eidul Azha sacrifice after a last-minute authorities intervention, a Dwelling Ministry official stated on Wednesday.
The practically 700-kg animal had already been bought for ritual slaughter when authorities stepped in, citing safety considerations after a surge of public curiosity forward of Thursday’s competition.
Dwelling Minister Salahuddin Ahmed ordered the buffalo to be spared, the customer refunded, and the animal moved to the nationwide zoo in Dhaka.
“On the final second, the choice was taken to spare the buffalo from sacrifice because of safety considerations and the bizarre degree of public curiosity,” a ministry official stated.
What started as a routine Eid buy shortly became a nationwide curiosity after movies went viral. Crowds gathered on the farm, with guests touring from far afield to see its blond fringe and calm demeanor.
Farm proprietor Ziauddin Mridha stated the title got here from his youthful brother, who noticed the resemblance.
Mridha added that the animal is unusually light and desires cautious maintenance, together with frequent feeding and common baths.
