Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Role Summary
The Council of ICAP is looking for a dynamic, forward-looking, and professionally credible leader capable of steering the Institute into its next phase of transformation, digital excellence, and global relevance. The CEO will serve as the principal executive leader of ICAP and will be responsible for implementing the Council’s strategic vision while ensuring operational excellence, institutional growth, and financial sustainability.
The selected candidate will lead multi-location and multi-functional operations while maintaining the credibility and global standing of CA Pakistan. The CEO will work closely with students, members, employees, regulators, government institutions, and international professional bodies to strengthen the future relevance of the accounting profession.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Council to develop long-term strategies and implement actionable plans with KPIs.
- Lead organizational transformation aligned with AI, automation, sustainability, and regulatory trends.
- Ensure operational efficiency, governance, compliance, risk oversight, transparency, and institutional independence.
- Maintain financial sustainability through effective fiscal management and diversified revenue streams.
- Represent ICAP before government departments, regulators, and international organizations.
- Build strategic alliances to enhance global recognition of CA Pakistan.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives to create a data-driven and agile organization.
- Ensure high standards in education, examinations, student facilitation, and member services.
- Enhance the value proposition for students and members through continuous professional development initiatives.
- Build and lead a high-performing executive team.
- Attract, retain, and develop talent while promoting a strong performance culture and succession planning.
Required Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant qualification (ICAP preferred).
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree from an HEC-recognized or reputable international institution.
- Specialist management and leadership certifications along with practical experience will be considered an added advantage.
Required Experience
- Minimum 15–20 years of progressive leadership experience.
- At least 5 years of C-level leadership experience outside the finance function.
- Experience in reputable professional bodies, regulatory organizations, academic institutions, or the corporate sector.
Job Location
- The position is based in Karachi.
- The CEO will oversee:
- 15 offices across Pakistan and the UAE.
- 10 international chapters operating outside Pakistan.
