PESHAWAR: Pakistani martial artist Irfan Mehsood has added another achievement to his growing list of international accolades by setting a new Guinness World Record for full-extension one-hand punches.
Mehsood performed 38 full-extension one-hand punches in one minute while carrying a 10-kilogram weight.
Speaking to Geo News, Mehsood said the target set by Guinness World Records was 30 punches, which he surpassed to claim the record.
According to the Guinness World Records certificate, the feat was achieved in Dera Ismail Khan on March 19, 2026.
Mehsood said he has already established 70 world records in the push-ups category, the highest number at the global level in the discipline.
The martial artist added that he has previously set world records while carrying weights of 100, 80, 60 and 40 pounds.
He said he has broken records held by competitors from more than 20 countries, including the United States, India and Germany.
The record-holder’s achievements span a range of strength and fitness disciplines, including push-ups, squats, jumping jacks, step-ups, knee strikes, elbow strikes, side jumps, high jumps and star jumps.
Mehsood has also inspired a new generation of athletes, with 20 of his students going on to achieve Guinness World Records.
