The seek for a lacking cat in Winnipeg has led to a person being charged with extortion, police stated Sunday.
A 44-year-old girl reported that her cat had gone lacking on July 14 from her residence within the 200 block of Manitoba Avenue.

The girl advised police that she suspected a neighbour was concerned.
That neighbour later admitted to the girl that he had her cat and delivered a letter demanding cash in trade for the feline’s return. The girl shared the knowledge with police.
On Thursday, police visited the neighbour’s residence, positioned the cat unhurt and returned it to the girl.
The 72-year-old man is now going through fees of extortion and theft below $5,000. He has since been launched on an enterprise.
