Pakistani architect Yasmeen Lari is among the figures represented in a major architecture exhibition in Doha. The exhibition, titled Beyti Beytak – My Home Is Your Home, explores how buildings and shared spaces can respond to community needs across the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.
Yasmeen Lari’s community-focused approach
Lari is known for work that uses accessible building materials and local construction knowledge to support communities affected by disasters. Her contribution to the Doha presentation centres on a bamboo community-centre design associated with the Heritage Foundation of Pakistan.
The structure illustrates an approach to architecture that considers affordability, adaptability and the participation of local residents alongside conventional design concerns.
What visitors can see
According to reporting on the exhibition, the presentation includes architectural models, drawings, photographs, films and archival materials. Projects from several generations of architects are used to examine the relationship between built environments, heritage and social life.
The exhibition is being presented at Fahad bin Ali Palace in Doha by Qatar Museums and the future Art Mill Museum. Qatar Museums confirms that the exhibition runs from October 26, 2026, to May 29, 2027. Visitors should check the official ticketing page before travelling.
Pakistan’s representation
Alongside Lari’s work through the Heritage Foundation of Pakistan, the exhibition is reported to include Pakistani architect Nayyar Ali Dada. The broader programme draws on architects and practices from across the region, connecting contemporary projects with earlier approaches to climate, local materials and public space.
Why the exhibition matters
By highlighting community buildings and practical construction methods, the exhibition invites discussion about how architecture can address everyday needs rather than focusing only on landmark projects. Lari’s work provides a Pakistan-linked example of this wider theme.
