GM Brownstown Battery Plant to Close as Lease Ends
General Motors says it will close the Brownstown battery assembly facility near Detroit when its lease ends. The company plans to transfer the work to other locations. Brownstown supplied components for the Cadillac Celestiq and Corvette E-Ray. GM says the closure concerns the lease, rather than an end to its electric-vehicle plans.
