From local street scenes to upscale restaurants; these are some of the go-to spots for iftar, coffee

As the season of Ramazan comes into its full swing, Karachiites are out and about enjoying their iftar and post-iftar coffee runs, with innumerable iftar offerings on offer. The eateries this Ramazan are bustling with crowds, offering deals ranging from Rs3,500 to Rs7,000.

These buffets offer a variety of foods from pakoras to proper entrees. Here’s a roundup of emerging buffets and coffee houses that don’t just serve food–they live up to the hype.

    Yazu Pakistan

The Iftar buffet at Yazu Pan Asian leans more toward comfort food rather than experimental Asian dishes, so if you’re expecting things like charcoal bao buns or squid ink pasta, this may not be the place.

What it does offer, though, is a solid spread of familiar favourites, including dumplings, chowmein, tarragon chicken, Cajun pasta, pizzas, desserts, and Chinese staples such as chicken chilli dry and egg fried rice.

The overall setup is well executed with Ramazan-themed decor, neatly presented dishes and a spacious ambience that makes the dining experience comfortable.

    Routine

After shutting down for some time, the café has reopened and introduced a variety of new items to its menu. They are now leading with filter coffee, pairing it with dishes like French toast.

Among the most talked-about additions are the roasted marshmallow latte and their classic filter coffee, which seem to be getting a lot of attention.

To add more spark to their opening, their iftar deals are a must-try as well.

    Instakanteen

The Iftar buffet at Kanteen brings the buffet to your table, so you can skip the usual waiting in lines while still enjoying an all-you-can-eat spread.

From the first round, you are served with the pakora platter and the dahi baray. For the mains, the BBQ items, malai boti, tikka boti, Lahori fish and the paratha roll are surprisingly good, along with the paneer reshmi handi and haleem.

Desserts like gulab jamun and khoya kulfi are their solid picks, and the Kanteen chai was the perfect way to end the meal.

    Melbrew Coffee Bar

At Melbrew Coffee Bar, a Ramazan visit is ideal for a relaxed post-iftar coffee. The café has a cosy, modern vibe that works well if you’re looking to wind down after a day of fasting.

Their coffee remains the highlight, with drinks like the Spanish latte and dirty coffee being popular picks. It’s a simple stop for dessert and coffee if you’re craving something sweet and caffeine after iftar, Melbrew does the job well.

The Ramazan food experiences in the city continue to evolve, offering everything from traditional comfort dishes to modern café stops for a post-iftar unwind.

Whether it’s a full buffet, a table-served iftar, or simply coffee, these spots show how dining out during Ramazan has become as much about the atmosphere and shared moments as it is about the food itself.
