Alberta oil and gasoline operator Cenovus Vitality Inc. says one employee was killed and one other was injured late final week at a web site in northeastern Alberta.
The Calgary-based firm says they have been employed by a third-party contractor on the Christina Lake North web site south of Fort McMurray, east of Freeway 881 close to Conklin.
Alberta Occupational Well being and Security says the employees have been struck by a pipe that rolled off a truck they have been unloading.
