    Montreal’s public transit company says commuters took about 20 million fewer journeys on its community in 2025 as metros and buses had been disrupted by rotating strikes.

    Company spokesperson Amélie Régis says passengers took 294.1 million journeys in 2025, down from 314.6 million journeys within the earlier 12 months.

    Régis says the 2025 numbers had been estimated on the finish of November, and don’t account for an additional time strike in December.

    The company estimates weekday ridership was down by 9 per cent, whereas weekend ridership decreased by 12 per cent.
