Madison Sheahan, an in depth ally of Homeland Safety Secretary Kristi Noem.
Washington, DC / Ohio: Madison Sheahan, the 28-year-old Deputy Director of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), resigned from her federal publish, to launch a marketing campaign for the US Home of Representatives in Ohio’s ninth Congressional District.
Sheahan, an in depth ally of Homeland Safety Secretary Kristi Noem, introduced her bid to problem long-serving Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur in a district Republicans see as a key pickup alternative this fall.
In launching her bid, Sheahan described herself as a “Trump conservative” and highlighted her work at ICE as a part of her marketing campaign message.
Earlier than her federal function, she held management positions in state politics and authorities, together with serving as political director to Noem and as government director of the South Dakota Republican Get together, and as Secretary of the Louisiana Division of Wildlife and Fisheries.
Her resignation marks a transition from a senior regulation enforcement place to a high-stakes congressional marketing campaign within the more and more aggressive political panorama.
