As the last week of Ramazan unfold, bustling bazaars and shopping malls are witnessing a surge in late-night shoppers, with men, women and children crowding colourful stalls for clothes, bangles, jewellery and footwear in preparation for Eidul Fitr.
Markets are abuzz with festive energy, while shop displays and streetlights turn late-night shopping into a vibrant celebration ahead of Eid. Shoppers expressed excitement and anticipation for Eid, according to various media reports.
“Every year, we look forward to these last nights of Ramazan to buy something special for the family,” said Ayesha Khan, a regular visitor in Lahore. Khan and many other women said they carefully choose outfits, accessories and matching footwear to make Eid celebrations memorable.
Parents were seen guiding children through colourful stalls, while groups of friends compared fashion choices and exchanged tips on the best deals.
Shopkeepers, meanwhile, welcomed the surge, saying they were ready for business in the last week of the holy month. “Ramazan’s final days are always the busiest,” said Tariq Ali, a jewellery vendor. “Sales pick up after iftar and we prepare months in advance for this rush.”
Tariq said that seeing families enjoy shopping and celebrating together was worth all the effort. He and his fellow shopkeepers in the market spoke of higher demand for traditional clothing, bangles and shoes, reflecting the enduring festive spirit across markets.
Shoppers are also flocking to famous footwear shops, with men browsing traditional Peshawari chappals and women hunting for matching shoes to complement their Eid outfits. Stores selling colourful khussa are particularly busy.
From Dera Ghazi Khan to Islamabad and from Gilgit-Baltistan to Azad Jammu and Kashmir, city streets and markets glow with festive energy. Kids giggle as they explore colourful stalls, while women and men compare outfits and accessories, turning late-night shopping into a vibrant Eid spectacle.
Shoppers shared their excitement for the festival. “Children cannot wait to pick their bangles and shoes, and we love browsing outfits together as a family,” said a mother in Karachi. Shopkeepers echoed the sentiment.
Across all cities, markets are alive with laughter, chatter and the jingling of bangles, capturing the joyous spirit of Eid preparations nationwide. Long queues forming at shops as families choose items for both adults and children add another layer of excitement to the festive shopping frenzy.
Kashmiri bangles remain a top attraction for shoppers this year, with women and girls flocking to stalls to pick vibrant, intricately designed sets. Their rich colours and delicate craftsmanship make them a must-have accessory for Eid celebrations, adding a traditional charm that completes every festive outfit.
