With the most recent release of the Shrouded Sky update in ARC Raiders, a new questline was released in tandem, expanding on the lore and struggle of our beloved Raiders.
This is one of those quests that spans multiple maps; however, it artfully integrates the new Controlled Access area, recently released on the Dam Map. Throughout the course of this investigation, you’ll have to discover hidden areas and unlock barricaded doors, all while under the watchful gaze of the new ARC Units.
ARC Raiders: Keeping An Eye Out Quest Guide
Not much of a hideout, but better than nothing.
Let’s take a look at how to complete A Rising Tide and the exciting collection of rewards that comes with it.
Prerequisites
This quest requires you to have completed the previous quest, also released with this update, “A Dead End”, which takes place in the Security Wing of the Blue Gate Map.
You can access all areas of the quest without drawing the attention of flying ARC enemies; however, chances are you’re bound to encounter some ground units, especially in the new Controlled Access area.
ARC Raiders: Where to Get ARC Motion Cores
ARC motion cores are an essential resource used to craft epic and legendary weaponry. Here’s where to find them.
While you can probably get by with a free loadout, I would recommend bringing some decent gear. You can also find some good rewards during your run, and make sure you have at least one Safe Pocket.
Quest Walkthrough
Buried City
The first stage of the quest takes place in Buried City. You can find the building by looking directly southwest of the Piazza Roma Sign on the map, circled in the above image.
The easiest way to access this room is by zipline. You might have noticed there’s a long zipline that goes through the middle of the two buildings. If you jump off the zipline just as it passes through those buildings, you’ll be able to land on a small metal platform which leads inside.
Here you’ll find the console that you need to interact with. In addition, if you’re lucky, you can also find a Gun Cache here. Once you’ve completed this objective, simply extract and continue to the next part of the quest.
The Dam
First, head towards the new Controlled Access zone on the map. There are a few ways to get in: from the west stairway, from the east, or through a hole in the roof.
Once you get to the overgrown basement area, flooded with water and downed ARC units, you’ll know you’re in the right place. You’ll need to search for one of the portable battery cellslying around.
This can spawn in several places. However, the ones I found were behind the yellow cylinders and in the corner of the main central flooded room. I’ve heard these cells can also spawn in a room halfway up one of the vertical ziplines.
Search the area, looking down at the ground with your flashlight, and you’ll find one eventually. This is, of course, if someone hasn’t already done it themselves.
Next, climb the stairs with the battery until you reach the little machine emitting a blue glow. Insert the battery, and the doors on the opposite side will slide open. Head up once more and across the metal walkway to find a room that’s overlooking the vertical flooded chamber.
In this room, you’ll find a whiteboard that you need to take a picture of. While you’re at it, you might as well loot the room, as it can hold some pretty great items, including guns and blueprints. From here, you’re free to leave the Controlled Access zone and extract at your leisure.
Quest Rewards
The quest offers you the following rewards:
- 1× Anvil II
- 1× Anvil Splitter
- 1× Extended Barrel
- 40× Heavy Ammo
If you haven’t found one already, the anvil splitter is a legendary mod for the Anvil weapon. When you equip this in the tech slot, it will split the bullet into 4 parts. This does slightly more damage than the normal Anvil shot, but only if all four parts hit their mark. It’s a very situational mod, but it’s a nice bit of flavour and an interesting option for Anvil fans.
