Microsoft’s Free Play Days event returns this weekend, allowing Xbox users to play a handful of games for the low, low price of $0. Or at least nothing extra beyond a Game Pass membership.
Importantly, a Game Pass membership is required. But it can be Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, or Game Pass Essential.
Those who purchase the games after the free weekend can retain their progress and Gamerscore, which is a nice thing to know for people who want to keep playing.

How to get the free games
The Free Play Days games can be be downloaded on console by navigating to the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store and finding the Free Play Days collection. These are available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Alternatively, you can follow the links in this gallery to queue up your download remotely.

The newest entry in the series, Battlefield 6, is free right now on Xbox. And it’s good timing considering that the big Season 2 update just arrived.

Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainiods is free on Xbox now. The action-strategy game has players building a base and commanding an army of robots.

The tactical co-op RPG Sunderfolk is free on Xbox this weekend. The game has players using a smartphone to control the action, and people only need one copy to play with a group. Players must download a free phone or tablet app to play.
