Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was evacuated from his residence in Canberra late on Tuesday following a safety risk, and returned a number of hours later after nothing suspicious was discovered. ABC Information reported.
Albanese was evacuated from The Lodge, his official residence within the capital Canberra.
Nationwide broadcaster ABC reported the risk sparked a big police operation, and led to the prime minister being taken to a different location for a number of hours.
Police mentioned that they had responded to an “alleged safety incident” round 6pm (07:00 GMT), with out giving extra particulars on the character of the incident.
“An intensive search of a safety institution was undertaken and nothing suspicious was positioned. There is no such thing as a present risk to the neighborhood or public security,” an Australian Federal Police spokesperson mentioned in a press release.
