World artists, diplomats share artistic area as Karachi celebrates tradition by movie, theatre, and music

KARACHI:
The second day of the World Tradition Competition 2025, organised by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, turned the town right into a vivid canvas of artwork, tradition, and music, uniting artistic minds from over 140 international locations in a celebration of peace and variety.
The day started with the opening of the artwork exhibition ‘Peace & Items — Quantity 1’ on the Ahmed Pervez Artwork Gallery, inaugurated by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah.
Joined by Arts Council President Mohammad Ahmed Shah and ambassadors from Nepal and Argentina, the occasion showcased work from Argentina, Bangladesh, Comoros, and Sweden.
In his remarks, Asif Shah praised the universality of artwork, calling it a “language with out borders.” He highlighted the rising worldwide participation on this 12 months’s competition and credited the Sindh authorities for its continued assist of cultural alternate.
Ambassadors Rita Dhital and Sebastián Sayús echoed related sentiments, calling Karachi’s competition a “bridge between nations”.
A session on ‘Cultural Diplomacy between Pakistan and Nepal’ adopted, the place the diplomats emphasised artwork’s position in fostering dialogue and understanding between nations.
The movie section, ‘Opening Shorts Diplomacy & Trade’, introduced works from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, exploring themes of emotion, distance, and resilience.
Because the afternoon unfolded, the ‘Ballet Past Borders’ dance workshop energised members with rhythmic performances and classes in international dance traditions.
Later, Kosovo’s theatre troupe took the stage with ‘Te Turperuarit’, an Albanian play exploring disgrace, id, and social prejudice. The efficiency earned thunderous applause for its emotional depth and cultural relevance.
The competition’s vibrant day concluded with a ‘Mega Music Live performance’ underneath the open Karachi sky. Artists from Syria, Belgium, Nepal, France, and Bangladesh shared the stage with Pakistan’s Bilal Saeed, Akhtar Chanal, and Akbar Khamiso Khan, making a symphony of languages, rhythms, and cultures that embodied the competition’s true spirit — unity by artwork.
