Elon Musk’s xAI has laid off no less than 500 employees from its knowledge annotation group, which helps develop the corporate’s Grok chatbot, Enterprise Insider reported on Friday.
The corporate notified staff by electronic mail on Friday night time that it was planning to downsize its group of generalist AI tutors, the report mentioned, citing a number of messages considered by Enterprise Insider.
Responding to a request for remark, xAI referred to a publish on X wherein the corporate mentioned it was hiring for roles throughout domains and deliberate to extend its specialist AI tutor group by “10X.”
The information annotation group, xAI’s largest, teaches Grok to grasp the world by contextualising and categorising uncooked knowledge, Enterprise Insider mentioned.
