    A spokesperson for Common Ostrich Farms says the farm will ask the Supreme Court docket of Canada to cease the culling of 400 ostriches hit by avian flu, however it isn’t clear but whether or not Canada’s highest courtroom will hear the case.

    Katie Pasitney says the farm stays hopeful that it’s going to get one other probability to make its case, after Federal Court docket of Enchantment Justice Gerald Heckman dominated Friday the cull of the animals should be allowed to proceed.

    The Canadian Meals Inspection Company had first ordered the slaughter on Dec. 31, 2024, throughout an outbreak of H5N1 avian flu that killed 69 ostriches.

    The farm has been preventing the cull order for months, however misplaced its case in each Federal Court docket and the Federal Court docket of Enchantment, and now faces what Pasitney has referred to as an “open cull order” following this newest ruling.
