The Port of Montreal growth venture has formally set sail alongside the banks of the St. Lawrence River, with development now underway for a brand new wharf.
Following preparatory work on the positioning in Contrecoeur, simply downriver from Montreal, staff have begun to assemble a stone work jetty within the river.

The Montreal Port Authority says the construction will function a platform to maneuver equipment and construct the wharf earlier than being transformed into the floor of a transport container yard.
The group says some 250,000 tonnes of stone have been delivered to this point, with hundreds extra anticipated within the coming months.
