LONDON: Former Pakistan fast bowler and 1992 World Cup winner Aaqib Javed’s daughter, Uqba Aaqib, has tied the knot in the United Kingdom.

The wedding took place on August 9 in the UK. Aaqib’s wife, poet and author Farzana Aaqib, shared photographs of the newly married couple on social media and offered prayers and best wishes for their new life together.

“Alhamdulillah! Our daughter tied the knot in the UK on August 9! May this journey continue to be the best for both families and hearts! Amen,” she wrote.

The video shows Aaqib walking his daughter to the main wedding area, companies by the bride’s friends wearing traditional English wedding dresses.

Photographs from the ceremony show Uqba dressed in a white bridal gown, while the groom wore a formal suit.

Uqba has an academic background in media and journalism. She studied Media and International Journalism at the University of Sussex in the UK.

Aaqib was a member of Imran Khan’s 1992 World Cup-winning Pakistan side and represented Pakistan in 22 Tests and 163 One-Day Internationals during an international career spanning from 1988 to 1998.
