PMD forecasts rain, thunderstorms across several parts of Pakistan

Isolated rain and thunderstorms are also expected in western Sindh.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in several parts of the country over the next 24 hours, with isolated heavy rainfall expected in some areas.

According to the weather advisory, rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is likely in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, and northeast Balochistan. Isolated rain and thunderstorms are also expected in western Sindh and parts of northeastern Balochistan during the evening and night, while hot and humid weather is expected to prevail across the rest of the country.

The PMD has also stated that all major rivers in Pakistan are currently flowing within their normal ranges. However, scattered to widespread rain with isolated heavy falls is expected over the upper catchments of all major rivers, as well as Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, isolated rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms are also likely in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Balochistan. Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious, as heavy rainfall may lead to localized flooding and disrupt traffic in low-lying regions.
