Ghana plans authorized motion after Canada denied entry to Partey amid London rape trial – Nationwide


Ghana’s authorities says it’s planning authorized motion over Canada’s determination to disclaim the visa utility of a member of its nationwide soccer staff awaiting a rape trial in London.

Midfielder Thomas Partey has pleaded not responsible to the allegations, which date again to when he performed for the English membership Arsenal in 2025.

In an announcement launched on social media Saturday, Ghana says the choice by Canadian immigration authorities is “extraordinarily unfair,” and Partey needs to be presumed harmless forward of his trial.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada says it makes its choices on a case-by-case foundation and that internet hosting main occasions doesn’t change its legal guidelines.


Partey was scheduled to journey together with his staff to Toronto from its base camp in Smithfield, Rhode Island, for its opening match towards Panama on June 17.
