Quick-moving wildfire prompts evacuation order close to Shellbrook, Sask.


A quick-moving wildfire has triggered a compulsory evacuation order south of Shellbrook, Sask., as crews proceed battling a number of energetic fires throughout the province.

An emergency alert issued to residents Saturday morning ordered folks dwelling from one mile west to 5 miles east of Shellbrook and south of Freeway 3 to the RM of Shellbrook border to go away instantly.

Officers warned that the wildfire is shifting northwest and urged folks to not delay evacuation.

In accordance with the Saskatchewan Public Security Company’s newest replace, there are 10 energetic wildfires throughout the province, together with forest fires and grassfires.
