Ali Zafar turns his 2002 thesis painting into stunning AI music video for “Shiddat”

Ali Zafar has unveiled the music video for “Shiddat” from his album Roshni, transforming one of his original 2002 thesis paintings from the National College of Arts into a surreal AI-generated cinematic experience.

Long before music and films, Ali Zafar trained as a painter and fine arts student at NCA. The video brings to life a deeply personal art work, he created over two decades ago, placing viewers inside a haunting painted world built around love, memory, longing, and emotional isolation.

Directed by Fawaz Rehan and Ayelah Asim, the project was created entirely through AI virtual production, where every frame was generated using artificial intelligence while preserving the texture and emotion of the original canvas.

More than just a music video, “Shiddat” reconnects Ali Zafar’s journey as a painter, musician, and storyteller, merging fine art, cinema, music, and AI into one of the most visually ambitious releases from Roshni.
