The towering aluminium pigeon by Iván Argote has spent the previous 18 months charming guests alongside the Excessive Line on Manhattan’s west aspect. Playful but imposing, the sculpture shortly turned a viral sensation – an icon that drew crowds desperate to snap images with the larger-than-life chook.
Now, the 21-foot “dinosaur pigeon” is getting ready for its ultimate blow.
Scheduled for removing in early April 2026, the set up is concluding its deliberate run as a part of the Excessive Line’s rotating public artwork programme, which introduces a brand new large-scale fee each 18 months.
