If there’s one thing that’s synonymous with Phasmophobia by this point, it would be its arguably most beloved map of all — 6 Tanglewood Drive. This map is where every ambitious paranormal investigator starts, and it’s since become part of the game’s very identity. Thanks to another overhaul-style update from Kinetic Games, Tanglewood now has a completely new look and its very own challenge to boot.
The challenge in question is Entangled Terror, and you’ll need to put your investigation skills to work to conquer it. If you’re wondering how it works, here’s how to complete the Entangled Terror challenge in Phasmophobia.
Phasmophobia: Obambo Ghost Guide
The Obambo is a ghost that turns its behavior on a dime and can catch you off-guard if you’re not careful.
What is the Event Board in Phasmophobia?
The Event Board is where you can find all of Phasmophobia’s current and ongoing special challenges that involve completing extensive objectives for unique rewards. Each of them is themed to a specific map or initiative, such as achievements or the infamous Apocalypse challenge.
Some of these challenges, particularly ones that come in tandem with the game’s recurring seasonal events such as Winter’s Jest, are available only for as long as the event itself lasts (usually about a month). Meanwhile, several other challenges, such as the Ranger Challenge or Lighthouse Keeper Challenge, are permanent additions to the game, and you can complete them at your preferred pace.
You can track your progress with each of these challenges via the Event Board, as the progress gauge on each one will update as you complete investigations and any other objectives. The main reward for these challenges is usually a special ID Card and Badge that you can customize your character profile with.
How to Complete the Entangled Terror Challenge in Phasmophobia
To complete the Entangled Terror challenge in Phasmophobia, you need to complete a total of 50 investigations on the revamped 6 Tanglewood Drive map. Make sure to select it from the Map board on the left side in the main lobby, and bring your best equipment loadout.
For an investigation to qualify towards completion of the Entangled Terror challenge, you only need to correctly identify the ghost and survive to fulfill the contract. Optional objectives and media evidence are not required. If you’re embarking on this solo, this means you must survive and leave the premises yourself. Meanwhile, if you’re in a group, at least one person must survive to leave in the van and proceed to debriefing.
If you were familiar with the original version of the Tanglewood map, the revamped version released with the Tanglewood Rework update (v0.16.0.0) may be a bit of a learning curve. The fundamental layout of the map remains mostly the same, with multiple rooms on the main floor and a basement below. However, the rooms themselves are completely remodeled with new displays and items to interact with. Hiding spots have also been adjusted.
If possible, completing this challenge with friends can help make things easier in terms of the investigation itself. More eyes on the ghost often help you identify it quickly, and you can simply turn and leave the house to make your guess and return to base. Also, since objectives aren’t your priority here, keep the investigations set to Amateur difficulty to help ensure that you get plenty of setup time and hunts are easier to contend with.
Entangled Terror Challenge Rewards in Phasmophobia
The main reward for the Entangled Terror Challenge in Phasmophobia is the Suburbanite ID Card and Badge. This can be customized via your profile on the main lobby’s bulletin board in the top right corner.
To do so, go to your ID Card and press the Edit icon in the top right corner of the card to bring up your customization options. Scroll through the second row labeled ‘Special Badge,’ and look for the badge styled with a lawn gnome. Now you can be a proud Tanglewood Drive suburbanite!
