Robin Hood has been renewed for a second season at MGM+. The drama series, which debuted in November and aired its season finale on Dec. 28, will return with another 10 episodes. Production on Season 2 is set to begin this summer at PFI Studios in Serbia.

Jack Patten leads the cast as Rob, aka Robin Hood, opposite Lauren McQueen as Marian. The ensemble also includes Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Lydia Peckham as Priscilla of Nottingham, Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon and Connie Nielsen as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine.

The series is showrun and executive produced by John Glenn, who also executive produces alongside director Jonathan English and Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures. Carly Kleinbart and Nicole Bryant oversee the project for Hidden Pictures, while Lionsgate Television serves as the studio.

According to MGM+, Season 2 will expand the story beyond Sherwood Forest and Nottingham into the royal courts of England, France and Rome. The new episodes will explore political intrigue within the Angevin empire, as Rob and Marian navigate power struggles involving kings and queens. The network describes the upcoming season as raising the stakes, deepening the central romance and reimagining the legendary outlaw tale as a prestige drama about power, legacy and sacrifice.

“Robin Hood quickly became one of our top performing original series of all time,” said Michael Wright, global head of MGM+, praising the show’s performance in both the United States and international markets.

In addition to the US, the series streams on MGM+ in the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Belgium and the Netherlands.
With filming set to begin in the coming months, fans can expect the next chapter of the classic legend to arrive with an even broader scope and heightened political drama.
The series received a series order from MGM+ in September 2024, with John Glenn and Jonathan English set as writers and to both executive produce. Glenn also serves as showrunner while English serves as the director of five episodes, including the pilot. Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures also serves as an executive producer, while Lionsgate Television acts as the main production studio.
In January 2025, Jack Patten was cast in the lead role of Robin Hood in his television debut. In February, Sean Bean was cast as the Sheriff of Nottingham and Lauren McQueen was cast as Maid Marian. Additional main cast members announced included Lydia Peckham, Steven Waddington, Marcus Fraser, Angus Castle-Doughty, and Henry Rowley. The following month, Connie Nielsen was cast as Eleanor of Aquitaine.
