How to Get Premium Wood in Starsand Island

There are plenty of crafting materials for you to track down in Starsand Island, with each one requiring you to use specific tools or go to a specific location to get them. For instance, Carbon Line requires the use of multiple materials and a specific crafting table.

One of the many basic materials you will need later on in the game is Premium Wood. While this item may sound simple to get, you actually need to go through the process of acquiring a specific tool to obtain it.

Let’s break down how you can get Premium Wood in Starsand Island.

Where to Get Premium Wood

Just like with the other types of wood in Starsand Island, you will get Premium Wood from trees. If you look at the item in your inventory, it will tell you that it comes from chopping down giant trees.

Unfortunately, the game doesn’t directly tell you what types of trees count as giant trees, but they are easily discerned from their smaller counterparts for the most part.

Specifically, you are looking to chop down white fig trees, as these are the ones that will drop Premium Wood. They will also drop Softwood and Hardwood, allowing you to collect three wood types from one tree.

White fig trees are often found on the northern side of the island, and I typically travel to the area around Cloudrest Lake to find them.

To chop down a white fig tree, you will need to get your hands on a machete. This is the second upgrade for the basic axe that you make at the start of the game.

To make this tool, you will need the following items:

4 Hardwood Planks
4 Iron Sheets
2 Radiant Crystals
3 Bronze
1 Impact Axe

Crafting this item is similar to crafting other stronger tools, so you will need to make sure you know how to get iron ore and other more difficult-to-obtain materials.

Once you have these materials, you can craft the machete on a level two worktable, as long as you have the blueprint. If you have not purchased the blueprint, you can do so by visiting Zerine’s shop in town.

You will go through the process of creating a level two worktable as part of the Crafter questline for Zerine. Once this has all been completed, you can create a machete and use it to fell large trees.

Purchasing Premium Wood

While you can easily gather Premium Wood from white fig trees around the island, you might want to simply buy the material instead. Luckily, you can do so, but it takes a bit of setting up.

First, you will need to learn the Supply Boost skill from the Workpedia App on your in-game phone. This will make it so the stores around town can stock raw materials.

Without this, you won’t be able to purchase any raw materials from the shops. Second, you will need to become a Senior Crafter as part of Zerine’s questline.

Once you are considered a Senior Crafter, you will be able to purchase Premium Wood from Zerine’s shop in town for 25 Coins.
