One of the many crafting materials you might be wondering how to make is Carbon Line. If you have been trying to progress Zephyria’s questline to become an explorer, you are probably well aware that you need this material.
Let’s break down how you can get your hands on some Carbon Line in Starsand Island and use it to craft a bow.
Getting a Spinning Wheel
Carbon Line is a material that is made using a Spinning Wheel. This is not an item you will need right away, but by following Zephyria’s quest, you will quickly learn that it is needed to continue.
To obtain the Spinning Wheel, you first need to learn the crafting recipe. This is obtained at Zerine’s General Store in town and will cost you 200 coins.
Once you have learned the crafting recipe for the Spinning Wheel, you will need to craft it. This is done at the standard workbench using five softwood planks.
After it is built, you can place the Spinning Wheel anywhere around your home.
Crafting Carbon Line
Carbon Line is made using two different, but easily obtained materials. These are fiber and charcoal — two materials that you are able to get plenty of early in the game.
In case you need a reminder, fiber can be obtained by destroying bushes and flowers. You will need to use your axe for this, so make sure you have that on your character when you are collecting fiber. Typically, a bush will get you two or three fibers.

Charcoal, on the other hand, is a material that is made. After you get your hands on some softwood and fiber, go to your charcoal kiln and use it to craft charcoal. You will need one softwood and two fibers to make charcoal.
Now that you have the materials required to make Carbon Line, go to your Spinning Wheel and craft it using four fibers and one charcoal. Crafting this item will take around five seconds to complete. If you have extra, you can sell Carbon Line for six coins.
What is Carbon Line Used For?
Carbon Line is one of the key materials required to craft a bow in Starsand Island. During the Intermittent Explorer quest for Zephyria, you will be tasked with learning the recipe for the Plume Bow and crafting it.
The Plume Bow requires you to have the second worktable, so you will need to invest in crafting. Additionally, to craft the weapon, you will need both hardwood planks and Carbon Line.
Once you have both items, you can use them to craft your first bow. This will also allow you to craft additional bows.
For now, this appears to be the only use for Carbon Line, but there could be additional uses for the material in the future as the game develops.
