One of the key aspects of No Rest for the Wicked is the ability to create complex builds using the game’s attribute system combined with various types of weapons and armor. Thanks to this, you can create powerful builds by enchanting your gear and switching the attributes of each item.

The Together Co-op update for the game made bows more useful than ever before. Now, you can craft powerful builds using the game’s many different bow types.
Using ice, you can turn a bow into a deadly force that will freeze enemies in their path. Let’s break down this bow build for No Rest for the Wicked.
Freezing Bow Build Attributes
The first part of any build is your attributes. Currently, the highest level in No Rest for the Wicked is 30, which allows you to set your attributes fairly high, since each level grants you three skill points. Of course, you can also respec if you make a mistake.
For this build, you won’t be using heavy armor, and you will instead be focusing more on damage and health. Your attributes should be set to the following:

You won’t be needing any strength for this build, as the bow that we are using scales off of dexterity, so your dexterity should be the highest stat at 52.
Your health and stamina do need some increases, placing them at 25 and 27. You can switch these if you’d like, but I find having more stamina to be useful.
Finally, while intelligence, faith, and focus are set to 10, your equip load will be 23. This is to allow for a wider range of armor to be used. If you find lighter armor, you can lower this.
Freeze Bow Build Weapon
The weapon of choice for this build is going to be the Lacquered Bow. This is the only unique bow in No Rest for the Wicked at this time, but it is also one of the most powerful bows in the game.
This bow has four enchantments on it:
- Gain one stack of Hunter’s Mark for 8 seconds after different elemental damage dealt.
- Critical hit chance increased by 11% for each stack of Hunter’s Mark.
- Stamina cost is reduced by 10% for each stack of Hunter’s Mark.
- Physical damage increased by 28% if you have 4 stacks of Hunter’s Mark.
Along with this, the Lacquered Bow has special attacks that allow you to fire arrows of each elemental type to deal status effects, making it extremely versatile. It also helps if you get this bow to drop with the Nimble bonus, as this will decrease your stamina cost further.
No Rest for the Wicked: Where to Farm Embers

After getting this weapon, you will also want to give it the ice infusion, as this will turn all of your arrows into ice arrows. This will allow you to freeze enemies as you attack them.
Until you obtain this bow, you can also craft a bow that you like and apply the ice infusion.
Freeze Bow Build Enchantments
Since your bow will come equipped with specific enchantments, you will instead want to focus on getting specific enchantments on your armor pieces and rings.
The enchantments that you are looking for are:
- Ice damage increased by X%.
- Gain X% armor penetration.
- Frost buildup increased by X%.
These enchantments will further increase the ice damage dealt by your weapon. Other enchantments you will want are damage resistance increases, stamina cost reducers, and durability increases.
Along with this, you can give your armor pieces stamina cost-reducing infusions. If applied to all of your gear, you shouldn’t need to worry about stamina consumption, allowing you to shoot arrows constantly without losing stamina.
The rings will help bring this build together. The Jade Ring will allow you to regain stamina by dealing damage to enemies. The Stone Tusk Ring will grant you increased armor. Finally, the Band of Calmness will increase your focus gain.
Focus gain is important because it will allow you to consistently use your special elemental arrows to maintain your Hunter’s Mark.
How to Use the Freeze Bow Build
This bow build is designed to slow enemies down and take them out while they are frozen. It excels at crowd control, allowing you to freeze enemies in their tracks and avoid damage easily.
Along with this, the build is very basic to use. You will mostly use your standard shots, which, thanks to the Lacquered Bow’s special ability, will track enemies. This will allow you to shoot almost anywhere you want and be able to hit your foes.
After you gain some focus, use your focus abilities to fire different elemental arrows to apply your Hunter’s Mark. This will increase your damage, reduce your stamina cost, and increase your critical hit chance.
Keep repeating this until the enemies are defeated. Most enemies are frozen using this build within a few shots, and bosses can be frozen multiple times over, making them very easy to kill.
I have used this build to run the Crucible multiple times successfully, and regularly use it to easily take down pestilence outbreaks.
