ARC Raiders Matchmaking Explained
ARC Raiders isn’t your typical online multiplayer game. Most online multiplayer games use a rank-based matchmaking system, where the game places you against other players that fall in your skill bracket. Instead, ARC Raiders uses something Embark Studios likes to call “Aggression Based Matchmaking.” This is completely different and is one of the main reasons why ARC Raiders is so unique.
Simply put, Aggression Based Matchmaking is a hidden system that measures how a player acts during raids and adjusts your future raids accordingly. For example, if you’re a player who is out for blood and likes to engage in PvP constantly, then the game will recognize this and pair you with others who typically play the same way. This leads to more shoot-on-sight encounters and a more competitive experience.
On the other hand, if you’re someone who never engages in PvP, then the game will attempt to place you in a lobby with others who exhibit the same behaviors. In other words, if you’re a pacifist in ARC Raiders, then there is a good chance you’ll be able to find other pacifists during your raids.
