Ahmedabad: In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, South Africa secured their third consecutive victory by defeating the New Zealand national cricket team by seven wickets, booking their place in the Super 8 stage.
The Group D clash, played in Ahmedabad, saw New Zealand post a competitive total of 175 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Mark Chapman top-scored with 48 runs, while Daryl Mitchell contributed 32.
South Africa’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Marco Jansen, who delivered a match-winning spell, claiming four wickets for 40 runs.
