    ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has introduced that calls to toll-free numbers, ie, (0800XXXXX), will now be free for all cell phone customers, extending a facility that was beforehand restricted to fixed-line prospects.

    In a press release, the PTA has acknowledged that cellular customers had earlier been charged normal name charges when dialing toll-free numbers starting with 0800.

    The authority stated it reviewed the matter and took vital initiatives to guard shopper pursuits and guarantee equal entry to telecom companies.

    It was additional acknowledged that following consultations with key stakeholders, together with Pakistan Telecommunication Firm (PTCL), the Nationwide Telecommunication Company (NTC), native loop operators and mobile cellular operators, it was agreed that calls to native loop (LL) toll-free numbers could be free for all customers.

    The PTA has stated the transfer displays its dedication to selling shopper rights, guaranteeing truthful entry to telecommunications companies and making a extra user-friendly telecom setting throughout Pakistan.
