    • ICC tells Bangladesh to journey to India for match or lose factors.
    • BCB denies receiving any such warning or ultimatum by international physique.

The Worldwide Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly turned down Bangladesh’s request to maneuver their T20 World Cup 2026 matches out of India.

Conflicting studies have surfaced following a contact between the ICC and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday concerning Bangladesh’s participation within the upcoming males’s T20 World Cup in India.

The ICC knowledgeable the BCB throughout a digital assembly that their request to stage its World Cup matches exterior India, citing safety issues, had been rejected, ESPNcricinfo reported.

The ICC has reportedly conveyed to BCB that Bangladesh can be required to journey to India for the match or face the potential for dropping factors. Nevertheless, the BCB has mentioned that it was not given any such warning or ultimatum by the worldwide physique.

Neither the BCCI nor the BCB has launched an official assertion outlining the result of the decision, which was organised by the ICC after the BCB wrote on Sunday asking the council to “take into account” shifting Bangladesh’s matches away from India.

This situation emerged lower than a month earlier than the 20-team match begins, with matches scheduled in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.

Bangladesh, drawn in Group C, are set to play their opening three fixtures in Kolkata, towards West Indies on February 7, Italy on February 9, and England on February 14, earlier than finishing the group stage with a match towards Nepal in Mumbai on February 17.

The BCB had approached the ICC after the BCCI reportedly directed Kolkata Knight Riders to launch Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman.

The BCCI’s secretary, Devajit Saikia, knowledgeable the media of the choice, though no clarification was given for asking KKR to let go of Mustafizur, who was the only real Bangladesh participant purchased on the 2026 public sale.

It could be famous that the IPL Governing Council didn’t convene to deliberate on the matter, leaving uncertainty over who, aside from Saikia, was concerned in taking the choice concerning Mustafizur.
