    The necessary digital switch of salaries for all home employees in Saudi Arabia got here into impact on Thursday, 1 January, the Ministry of Human Sources and Social Improvement introduced.

    In response to a statement, the Ministry stated employers are actually required to switch home employees’ wages electronically by means of the Musaned platform. The digital wage switch service paperwork wage funds by way of accredited banks and digital wallets.

    The ministry stated the choice marks a major step in the direction of safeguarding the salary-related rights of home employees and enhancing transparency within the contractual relationship between employers and their home employees.

    The measure represents the fifth and closing part of the digital wage switch programme. With its implementation, the requirement now applies to all forms of home employees and is necessary for all employers with out exception.

    Phased rollout of wage switch system

    The rollout of the digital wage switch system was carried out in phases. The primary part started on 1 July 2024 and utilized to home employees arriving in Saudi Arabia for the primary time. The second part, launched in January 2025, lined employers with 4 or extra home employees.

    The third part was launched in July 2025 and utilized to employers with three or extra home employees. This was adopted by the fourth part, which got here into impact on 1 October 2025 and focused employers with two or extra home employees. The fifth part, which took impact on 1 January 2026, completes the programme by extending the requirement to all remaining employers.

    The ministry stated the digital wage switch service permits wage funds to be documented by means of official monetary channels, making certain they’re recorded by means of accredited banks and digital wallets.

    It added that the initiative types a part of efforts to control the labour market and enhance digital companies supplied to beneficiaries. The measure additionally aligns with the aims of Saudi Vision 2030, which goals to extend market effectivity, improve the work atmosphere, and promote equity and stability in contractual relationships.

    No exemptions to the requirement had been introduced, with the ministry confirming that digital wage transfers are actually obligatory for all employers of home employees throughout the Kingdom.
