The Sydney Swans have confirmed AFL-listed participant Riak Andrew has been cited after utilizing a homophobic slur in a VFL match in opposition to North Melbourne.
Sydney confirmed the incident occurred on Saturday with a membership assertion saying Andrew “understands the language he used is unacceptable”.
“He’s remorseful and takes full accountability,” the assertion continued.

Andrew was recruited to the Swans on night time two of the 2024 draft after taking part in for Dandenong Stingrays. He’s the brother of Suns star Mac Andrew.

Sydney Swans chief government Tom Harley described the behaviour as disappointing.
