In a significant crackdown towards cross-border narco-smuggling, the Punjab Police mentioned on Saturday it busted “a well-organised heroin trafficking cartel with direct hyperlinks to Pakistan-based smugglers.”
Police mentioned they recovered 6.106 Kg heroin and two bikes throughout the operation.
They mentioned key accused Sarbjit alias Joban, who was working from a border-area village, “is in direct contact with infamous smuggler Rana throughout the border.”
Sarbjit was arrested together with a juvenile, with 1 Kg heroin recovered from them, they added.
“His interrogation results in the arrest of two extra smugglers — Dharam Singh and Kulbir Singh — from Ajnala, with over 5 Kg heroin seized,” police mentioned.
