    On the event of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Pakistan’s Everlasting Consultant to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, addressed a ceremony highlighting the challenges going through social improvement within the occupied territories, notably Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

    Talking on the occasion, Ambassador Iftikhar referred to the World Summit on Social Growth held final yr, stressing that a big inhabitants within the occupied territories continues to dwell beneath extraordinarily troublesome situations. He mentioned that training, healthcare, and social life have been severely affected resulting from extended restrictions and instability.

    The Pakistani envoy demanded that United Nations resolutions and worldwide human rights obligations be revered within the occupied territories. He emphasised that the suitable to self-determination of the Kashmiri individuals should be upheld in accordance with UN resolutions.

    Ambassador Iftikhar acknowledged that the unilateral and unlawful actions of August 5, 2019, had additional worsened the state of affairs in IIOJK. He expressed critical concern over studies of extrajudicial killings, steady lockdowns, and curfews imposed within the area.

    He added that extended restrictions have pressured academic establishments to stay closed, whereas curfews have badly broken tourism and different financial sectors, pushing massive segments of the inhabitants into misery.

    Reiterating Pakistan’s stance, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar mentioned that the worldwide group should take pressing discover of the deteriorating humanitarian and social situations within the occupied territories and guarantee accountability for human rights violations.
