Transport secretary TK Ramachandran, whereas taking part within the 134th session of the Council of the Worldwide Maritime Group (IMO), mentioned latest maritime incidents brought on by undeclared hazardous cargoes have raised severe security issues.
“India delivered a robust and principled assertion addressing latest maritime incidents involving foreign-flagged container vessels working in Indian waters,” the assertion mentioned.
India urged the IMO to undertake a complete investigation and world evaluation of all such incidents involving container ships, it added.
