A pupil of the Indian Institute of Administration (IIM) Calcutta was accused of raping a lady on the institute’s campus, Kolkata Police mentioned on Saturday.
Based on Telegraph, a pupil of the Indian Institute of Administration, Calcutta was allegedly raped by a second-year pupil contained in the boys’ hostel. Officers mentioned the girl lodged a grievance on the Haridevpur police station on Friday night.
“Late final night, a lady reported at Haridevpur Police Station that she was raped by a pupil contained in the IIM Calcutta campus,” police have been quoted by information company PTI as saying.
“A case has been registered, and the accused has been arrested,” police mentioned. They added that an investigation is presently underway.
Police sources informed the Telegraph that in her grievance the survivor alleged she was lured to the boys’ hostel below the pretext of a counseling session.
“As soon as there, she was provided meals and drinks, after which she misplaced consciousness. Upon regaining consciousness, she discovered herself contained in the hostel and alleged that she had been raped,” the girl claimed.
“She additionally claimed the accused threatened her with dire penalties if she spoke out,” the girl reportedly mentioned in her grievance.
